Widget Trend Colors — Choose Whether an Increase or a Decrease Is “Good”
In dashboards and custom reports, each widget’s numerical statistic now displays a trend badge (▲/▼ with % change). You can control whether an increase or decrease in that number should be highlighted in positive (green) or negative (red) colours.
For metrics where lower values are better — such as unsubscribe rates, bounce rates, churn, or cost per lead — you can now show accurate trend colours instead of the default assumption that “higher is good.”
This feature applies irrespective of the chart type you have selected for the widget—whether it’s a Number, Line, or Bar chart—since the trend badge appears consistently across all options when the “Comparison Date Range” is set.

Metrics such as unsubscribe or bounce rates will no longer show a misleading green arrow when they increase. For instance, a declining unsubscribe rate will now be displayed in green (good), while a decreasing delivered-email count will still be marked in red (needs attention).
- Open the widget’s Configure panel.
- Under Advanced Settings, adjust the “Date Range Override” and “Comparison Date Range.”
- Determine whether an increase or decrease in a metric is considered positive. Select “Increase is Positive” (default) or “Decrease is Positive,” depending on how the metric should be interpreted.
- Save changes — the trend badge colour will update automatically across all chart types for that widget.
- Accurate trend signals — Metrics such as unsubscribe or bounce rates will no longer display a misleading green arrow when they increase.
- Builds client trust — Agencies sharing dashboards with clients can rely on the fact that green consistently indicates “good,” even for cost or churn metrics.
📝 Notes:
- Existing widgets default to “Increase is Positive” — the colour behaviour of any widget will not change until updated.
- This setting resides in the widget’s Configure panel and applies regardless of the chart type selected for that widget.
