Widget Trend Badge Color — Choose Whether an Increase or a Decrease Is “Good”
In dashboards and custom reports, every widget’s number stat displays a trend badge (▲/▼ with % change). You can now control whether an increase or a decrease in that number is shown in positive (green) or negative (red) colours.
Metrics where lower is better — such as unsubscribe rate, bounce rate, churn, or cost per lead — can now accurately reflect trend colours instead of automatically assuming that “higher is good.”
This feature applies regardless of the chart type you have selected for the widget — be it Number, Line, or Bar — since the trend badge appears consistently across all of them when the “Comparison Date Range” is set.
Misleading trend indicators are eliminated: Metrics such as unsubscribe or bounce rate will no longer display a misleading green arrow when they increase. For instance, a decreasing unsubscribe rate now shows green (good), whereas a decreasing delivered-email count still appears red (requires attention).
- Open the widget’s Configure panel.
- Under Advanced settings, configure “Date range override” and “Comparison date range.”
- Specify whether an increase or decrease in a metric is considered positive. Choose ‘Increase is positive’ (default) or ‘Decrease is positive,’ depending on how the metric should be interpreted.
- Save changes — the trend badge colour updates automatically across all chart-type views of that widget.
- Accurate trend signals — Metrics like unsubscribe or bounce rate will no longer show a misleading green arrow when they increase.
- Builds client trust — Agencies sharing dashboards with clients can rely on green always meaning “good,” even for cost or churn metrics.
📝 Notes:
- Existing widgets default to “Increase is positive” — no widget’s colour behaviour changes unless you update it.
- This setting is located in the widget’s Configure panel and applies irrespective of the chart type selected for that widget.
