Refreshed Placeholder Images in Store Builder
We’ve refreshed the placeholder images used across Ecommerce Store pages and elements in the Page Builder. The new illustration-based placeholders provide a cleaner, more consistent editing experience and reduce confusion caused by realistic product images.
The updated placeholders are available across:
- Product Listing, Product Detail, Cart, Checkout, and Thank You pages
- Featured Product, Featured Products, Upsell, and Collection elements
Standardised Placeholder Text
We’ve also standardised placeholder text (for example, “
Product title
” and “
Collection title
“) and improved builder previews by showing:
- Subscription and Free Trial badges below the price on product cards
- A product image placeholder for collections without an image instead of a grey placeholder
How to Enable the New Placeholders
- Go to
Admin Portal → Settings → Labs
.
- Search for “
Page Builder: New Image Placeholders
“.
- Toggle the feature
On
.
- Reload the Page Builder to see the updated placeholders.
Important Notes
- This is a visual-only enhancement—no changes to layouts, functionality, or live store content.
- The feature only affects placeholder images shown when no product or collection is connected.
- The Labs flag is enabled
per sub-account
and can be turned off at any time to restore the original placeholders.
