Locale-Based Currency Formatting for Store Elements
What’s New?
We are excited to introduce Locale-Based Currency Formatting, enhancing the readability and regional accuracy of your store’s prices. Prices will now automatically display in formats such as $1,000.00 or €1.000,00 instead of simple numerical values.
Key Highlights:
- Enable via Toggle: Activate “Locale-Based Currency Formatting” in the Store Settings.
- Smart Locale Detection: Determined by the page language and the visitor’s location (e.g., en-US, hi-IN).
- Applies Everywhere: This feature is effective across the PLP, PDP, Cart, Checkout, and all store elements.
- Auto Formatting Rules: Automatically manages separators, decimals, and currency symbol placement.
How to Use It?
- Access Store Settings in your Ecommerce Store.
- Enable the toggle for “Locale-Based Currency Formatting.”
- Open the Builder and go to SEO & AI Search Optimisation settings.
- Select your preferred Page Language in the Language section.
- Save and publish your changes.
Key Points to Note:
- This is a formatting-only feature — it does not convert currencies according to exchange rates.
- If locale data is unavailable, the system will default to en-US formatting.
- The displayed format is based on the visitor’s location, not the store’s location.
- This feature enhances store readability, builds trust, and improves the global shopping experience.
