Callers now hear their own country’s ringtone
6th of August, 2026
If your business operates outside the US, callers previously heard a US-style ringback tone while their calls were being forwarded to you, routed through your IVR menu, transferred by Voice AI, or dialled out to them. This mismatch could come across as unfamiliar or even spammy, leading some to hang up before you had the chance to answer.
We have now localised the ringback tone to align with the country of the phone number involved. This update applies to inbound call forwarding, outbound calls, IVR call routing, and Voice AI transfers across 37 countries. Now, callers will hear the tone they expect, regardless of how the call connects.
