When you dialled a number that

never reached

the recipient’s carrier, the system played the usual

ringback tone

immediately. Seconds later, the call dropped, creating the illusion of a ringing call that abruptly failed.

🛠️ What’s changed?

  1. New “Connecting” tone

We now play a short

connecting tone

while we are still attempting to reach the carrier.

  1. Authentic ringback

The familiar ringback tone starts

only after

the carrier confirms that the destination device is actually ringing.

  1. Accurate feedback

If the carrier cannot be reached, the call ends cleanly after the connecting tone—no more “phantom ringing.”
