We have introduced AI-powered review summary insights in the App Marketplace to assist users and developers in quickly grasping app sentiment without having to sift through individual reviews. This feature offers a concise, structured summary of user feedback, simplifying the evaluation of apps at a glance.

AI-Generated Review Summary

Marketplace app listings now feature an intelligent summary generated once an app has received at least five reviews. The system analyses up to the 200 most recent reviews and updates the summary periodically as new reviews are submitted.

  • Facilitates faster decision-making for users browsing apps
  • Provides developers with a clear overview of overall sentiment
  • Minimises the need to manually examine multiple reviews

Each summary includes:

  • Summary: A concise 2–3 sentence overview of reviewer sentiment
  • Recommendation %: Percentage of users rating the app 4 stars or higher
  • Pros: Top 2–4 commonly praised aspects
  • Cons: Top 1–3 commonly reported issues (if any)
  • Reviews Analysed: Number of reviews included in the summary
  • Offers a balanced and data-driven snapshot of app performance
  • Highlights key strengths and areas for improvement
  • Summaries are factual and neutral, avoiding marketing language
  • Employs frequency-based phrasing (e.g., “many users”, “some reviewers”)
  • Only includes themes mentioned in multiple reviews to circumvent outliers
  • Input is sanitised to prevent prompt injection
  • Handles low-review apps gracefully (no summary shown if data is insufficient)

These enhancements improve discoverability, transparency, and trust in the marketplace by making review insights more accessible and actionable.
