Ad Manager: Draft support for Meta lead forms
- Users can now create and save Meta Lead Forms in a
Draft
state directly from the Ad Manager campaign flow.
- A dedicated
“Save as Draft”
action has been added inside the Facebook Lead Form builder.
- Draft forms are now clearly labelled with a
‘Draft’ badge
within the lead form selection dropdown.
- Edit support for draft forms can be accessed directly from the lead form selector using the inline edit icon.
- Campaign validation now detects draft or incomplete forms before ads are published.
- Warnings have been added for forms with incomplete field mappings or unpublished draft states.
- Within the Meta Lead Form builder, users can configure the form as usual, using sections such as: Form Type, Greeting, Questions, Form Fields Mapping, Privacy Policy, and Message for Leads.
- Rather than instantly creating the form on Meta, users can now select “
Save as Draft
.”
- Draft forms appear in the
Select a lead form
dropdown with:
- A visible
Draft
status pill
- Created timestamp
- Quick edit capability via the edit icon
- Users can reopen draft forms at any time to continue editing, complete mappings, and eventually publish the form.
- If a draft or unmapped form is selected during campaign setup, validation messaging will appear stating:
- “The selected form is in draft status and has unmapped form fields. Please publish the form and complete field mapping before using it in a campaign.”
- Once the form is fully configured and published, it becomes eligible for campaign use.
- Meta does not allow editing of already published lead forms, making errors costly once a form is live.
- Draft support enables advertisers to build forms iteratively without immediately locking the configuration.
- This feature improves campaign preparation workflows by allowing teams to:
- Save work that is not yet ready for use
- Review forms before publishing
- Complete CRM field mappings at a later stage
- Reduce accidental publishing errors
- This is particularly useful for agencies and teams managing complex lead generation setups which require approvals or multi-step reviews.
- Draft forms cannot be used in live campaigns until they are published.
- Validation criteria are relaxed during the draft save process but enforced during the final publishing stage.
- Existing published Meta forms will continue to function without any changes.
