Consistent Reply Domains for Email Threading (LC Email Only)
We’ve Introduced an Essential Improvement to Email Replies in LC Email
We have rolled out a crucial enhancement to how replies are managed in LC Email, ensuring consistent domain usage throughout an email thread. This change addresses a common issue: email replies creating new threads in recipients’ inboxes due to domain inconsistencies.
Users have the ability to configure multiple sending domains.
When replying to an email, the system previously selected the sending domain based on the configuration set or the default sending domain, rather than the one that initiated the conversation.
This behaviour often led to email clients, such as Gmail or Outlook, generating new threads, which disrupted the flow of the conversation and created confusion.
Moving forward, replies in LC Email will always utilise the domain that initiated the conversation, ensuring that replies remain neatly within the same thread in the recipient’s inbox.
Replies will automatically use the original sending domain from the conversation.
If that domain is no longer available, the system will:
- Fallback to the assigned domain (if configured), or
- Default to the primary LC domain if none is available.
All replies will now remain within the same conversation thread, enhancing continuity and user experience.
This update is exclusive to the LC Email provider and does not apply to other SMTP provider services or Mailgun.
