Improved Tax Rate Accuracy with 4-Decimal Precision

Thanks to a collaborative effort between the Invoicing & Estimates and Core Payments teams, an enhancement is now live, enabling businesses to benefit from precise tax rate calculations with up to four decimal places across invoices, estimates, subscriptions, transactions, and checkouts. This update ensures accuracy when dealing with fractional tax rates and tax amounts.

  • Tax rates are now calculated and displayed to four decimal places (e.g., 7.1250%).
  • Tax amounts will still round to two decimal places in line with currency standards (e.g., £1.78).

Consistent Display Across the Platform

  • Applicable to invoices, estimates, transaction details, subscription details, receipts, and other checkouts (Forms, Funnels, Stores, Payment Links, etc.) as well as CSV exports.
  • Tax percentages will be displayed with four decimal places across the user interface and in API responses.
  • Consistency is maintained in invoicing flows for accurate reporting.
  • Validated with external systems including QuickBooks Online (QBO), Stripe, and Shopify to support the four-decimal tax rate display.
  • Import/export of invoices, orders, transactions, and subscriptions is now aligned with this new precision.
  • Existing records will remain unchanged.
  • Only new invoices, estimates, orders, transactions, and subscriptions created after this update will adhere to the four-decimal logic.
  • Documents and contracts that have already been signed, along with pending invoices, will not change to maintain consistency with previous agreements.
  • Payments → Invoices (builder, previews, exports)
  • Payments → Estimates (builder, previews)
  • Payments → Checkouts (tax breakdown)
  • Payments → Transactions (details and exports)
  • Payments → Subscriptions (details page and receipts)
