Conversations: Contact Merging for Facebook/Instagram Contacts
We have improved the management of contacts from Facebook and Instagram to minimise duplicates and maintain unified contact records.
📍 Previously, when someone messaged your business on Facebook or Instagram and later provided their email or phone number, the system would add that information but still create a new contact, even if an existing contact had the same details. This resulted in duplicate records and fragmented histories.
✨ Now, when a contact enters through Facebook or Instagram and subsequently shares an email or phone number that matches an existing contact, the system will automatically merge the contacts—ensuring a single, complete profile. However, if the sub-account has specifically enabled the “Allow duplicate contacts” option, the automatic merge will not occur.
- **Facebook/Instagram contacts** are now automatically merged if their email or phone matches an existing contact 🔄
- **Prevents duplication** and keeps all conversations and details in one place
- **Automatic merge** is bypassed if the account has activated the “Allow duplicate contacts” option
