Edit Default Emails in Email Settings
We’re delighted to announce the launch of the Edit Default Email Templates feature in Email Settings. This enhancement allows Client Portal Owners to edit and personalise the default email templates used throughout the portal. Instead of relying on the default emails, portal owners can now create their own editable versions from the original templates, customise them to reflect their tone and message, and preview them along with the relevant custom fields — all within the Client Portal.
👀 What’s New?
- This release introduces the ability to:
- Create custom versions of previously locked default email templates.
- Preview templates alongside the custom fields used in the emails.
❓ How to Use It
This feature is now available to Client Portal Owners, based on their access to various applications such as communities, certificates, and courses.
Here’s how to get started:
- Navigate to Sites → Client Portal → Settings → Email Settings or Memberships → Client Portal → Settings → Email Settings.
- Under Email Settings, each app will be listed with toggles and email options.
- Click the Default Template button for any notification you wish to customise.
- Next to the selected template, click the Edit (pencil) icon.
- Click the “Proceed” button to create your own editable copy of the default template.
- Once generated, you can customise the email content.
- Use the Eye icon to preview exactly how your email will appear.
- Save the selected template — it will now be used for that specific notification type.
💡 Why This Feature Matters
- This update was driven by popular demand — many users requested the ability to edit default templates directly, rather than having to create a new one from scratch each time.
- Clearer Communication – Add context, remove unnecessary content, and maintain the original style while tailoring your message to users.
